Fox-Bane Chapter 9 :end Part 1:The sun was going down outside but Raaka and I where very uneasy."Raa, time to man the floodlight" Randy said patting Raaka's shoulder.I followed him out to the shed. There's a ledge close to the roof that has a little table and a light about the size of a spotlight. I sat beside Raaka and looked out over the flats."Randy told me Patty has a lamp tied to her horse and we should be able to see it from here." He said. As the sun dropped below the horizon Raa turned the light on. I kept a look out for the lamp."I'll try moving the light around a bit..." Raaka said getting up and manoeuvring the floodlight around. Still nothing. Then Raaka started chuckling."What are you laughing about?" I asked. Raa smiled and looked at me."I was wondering what my Dad would think about... us" he looked back out the peep hole."What do you mean?" I asked."Well, Dad said he was proud to call you his daughter. So it's kinda like I've fallen for my sister." He said. I laughed and looked into his eyes.
Fox-Bane Chapter 8I was the second person up, Randy was tanning the fox pelts outside."Hey Fox Bane" he said cheerily his breath was misty in the cold air."I'm letting everyone sleep in for a while, could you go check on them?" he asked, I nodded and waddled back inside.I poked my head into Meggi's room- fast asleep, same with Luke and Sam and Steph was just waking up. I finally got to Raaka's room and stood in the doorway. He was breathing heavily and looked frightened. I wanted to wake him but couldn't."Stay Away From Her!!" He roared. He gulped in air and woke."Raa, are you ok?" I asked, getting worried. He seemed to say 'thank god' and rubbed his neck."I- I'm fine, wha- what are you doing?" he asked groggily, sitting up."Randy told me to check on you..." I said. Raa nodded and yawned."Are the others up?" he asked."Randy and Steph, the little ones are asleep." I muttered. Raaka got up. I could see the scar he got from crashing the motor bike. It ran from the bottom of his left shoulder and d

Then it seemed to go dark. something huge and black blotted out the sun, a human with black wings."Fang!" I breathed but then I looked closer at the thing that had blotted out the sun. It wasn't flying like Fang and its feathers where pointed and sharp."Who's that?" Dylan wondered. I looked up in horror when i saw its face. A Metal, bloodstained mask with a curved Metal Beak. It flipped in mid-air then dived at Dylan and seemed to fly in slow motion and uttered two words that made my blood run cold."Hello, Brother!" then it slammed into Dylan sending them tumbling towards the ground.Dylan managed to kick the masked thing off him and circled the tree we had sat in.the masked thing landed on a branch and stared up at me with glowing red eyes.I Dived at it and swung a punch that connected with its forehead. It's head snapped back and it fell to the ground. Thoug
Fox-Bane Chapter 7We got to the house and it seemed like we never left Randy was fussing over his radios, Steph was busy unloading food and supplies. Meggi came up to us."Where where you guys?" she asked."Checking the cows, D'you guys wanna go spotlighting?" I asked. Three blonde faces grinned at me."We'll take the Ute down by the Saltpan by Ghost Horse Ridge" I said."I'll grab the guns and ammo, Duck, did you get thee ammo?" I asked Steph, who pointed at a pile of boxes full of packages of ammo."Thanks a heap!" I smiled then ran out to the shed where we kept our gun safe. I took the keys out of their hiding spot and unlocked the safe. I took out my 12 gauge and broke it. I cleaned and polished the barrel and stock for ages then moved onto the other 3 guns; the 4-10, the 20 gauge and our Ye Olde side by side. I remember the day I got that gun from Raaka's dad."Phoenix, you're like a daughter to me, I'd like you to have this

Fox-Bane Chapter 6The next morning was Hectic for the 27th. It seemed everyone had forgotten about my birthday. I didn't mind, really(!) We where scurrying around checking carts, supplies and clothes. We have to leave in the next two days."Randy? Do you have a minute?" I asked. Randy was checking radios."Sorry Mouse, I've gotta get these damn radios working." He said a little agitated. I sighed and walked off. Steph was in town getting supplies and I couldn't ask the kids wether they remembered.I stormed off to the stables, our dogs: Rusty, Kip, Alexander and Bosco where fast asleep. Raaka saw me burst out of the stables on Seiko bare back. I didn't notice him topping up the chooks food.I shortened the reigns and galloped toward Ghost horse ridge. We stopped by a cave under an out cropping of rock that looked like an Eagles head. I slipped of Seiko's back and sat on a flat stone in the cave."No one cares Seiko, they probably won't notice I'm gone." I sobbed. Seiko nuzzled my shoulder comfortingly.
